About us
Ranfurly Dental Care was founded by the husband and wife team of Paul Posa and Duchesne Hall in 1991.
They both graduated from Otago University and worked as assistant dentists in Auckland practices before setting up Ranfurly Dental Care.
Over the years, they have gathered a strong team around them.

Sophia graduated from Otago Dental School in 2007 and spent over 10 years working in Wellington before heading to New York City for a short stint. She came back to New Zealand in 2020 and decided to make Auckland home. She has since laid down roots by acquiring Ranfurly Dental Care.
Sophia is proficient in all scopes of general dentistry – from regular fillings and root canal therapy to crown/bridges/implants. Her philosophy is that prevention is better than intervention, therefore she is a big advocate of dental education to help patients maintain their oral health.
Outside of dentistry, Sophia enjoys reading, theatre, travelling, and SUPing in the summertime. She is also a self-proclaimed foodie; so, feel free to let her know your food recommendations when you come in! Sophia is always looking for new places to try and is willing to travel for [good] food.

Paul has worked full time and exclusively at Ranfurly Dental Care since 1991.
He is accomplished in all aspects of general dentistry, including Crown and Bridge, Cosmetic, Root Canal Therapy and Implants.
The quality and long-term success of his work is of the highest priority and he is committed to continuing professional education.
He is passionate about prevention and assisting patients to take control of their oral health.

Laura comes from a dental family and graduated from Otago Dental School in 2009.
Since then, Laura has been working in emergency and general dentistry here in her hometown of Auckland.
Laura enjoys the combination of science and art that dentistry offers. She is particularly interested in preventive care and has developed a reputation for making even the most nervous patients feel comfortable.
In addition to dentistry, Laura is passionate about her family (which includes her dogs), animal welfare, creating, and design.

Originally from the UK Debbie has worked in oral health since leaving school (yes many, many years ago!) covering various roles, and went on to study Dental Hygiene at University of Otago, graduating in 1997.
Debbie’s friendly, caring and gentle approach, along with a good sense of humour makes her patients feel at ease.
As an experienced oral health professional Debbie is fully committed to helping patients gain and maintain excellent oral health through offering realistic advice and treatment options. She regularly updates her knowledge and skills by attending continuous professional development courses.
In her spare time Debbie loves to catch up with family and friends, enjoys travel, outdoor pursuits and hosting themed dinner parties!!

Bridget has joined us after 5 years as a medical receptionist and prior to that over 20 years experience in office administration, both in New Zealand and overseas.

Kelly is senior chairside assistant for Paul, and also works in reception.
Kelly has been part of the Ranfurly Dental team for over 20 years.
Kelly's experience and versatility means she is familiar with all aspects of the practice, and has a great understanding of patients' needs.
Her easy manner will immediately make you feel comfortable.

Ashley has been working as a Dental Assistant for over 10 years, and joined the Ranfurly Dental team in 2019.
Ashley gained her certificate through the NZDA programme in 2016.
She aims to make all patients feel at ease when they are in the dental chair.

Sahara has a certificate in dental assisting, as well as several other qualifications in sterilising technology. She has moved from Wellington this year to join our team here at Ranfurly Dental Care.
Sahara’s calm and gentle nature makes patients feel at ease during dental treatments. She finds the most rewarding part of her job helping patients overcome their anxiety of dental treatment.
Outside of work, Sahara prioritises spending time with family and friends. She also lives a very active life, taking part in netball, touch and going to the gym in her spare time.

Ye has been involved in dentistry for 16 years, first working as a chairside assistant and now an oral health therapist. She has a range of experience from working in various dental practices, including Waitemata DHB Auckland Regional Dental service.
Ye graduated from Auckland University of Technology in 2018 with a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Oral Health. In her final year of study, Ye gained the award for the best overall clinical and academic achievement.
Ye is passionate about her job and is very prevention-focused and evidence-based in her clinical practice. She enables patients to achieve optimal oral health by providing information and education tailored to patient individual needs.
Ye is a mother of two and enjoys spending time with family outside of dentistry. She enjoys sketching and music as her hobbies.
